Hoping that 2021 would be a big improvement over 2020,
we decided to head outside since it was such a beautiful day.
(Remember you can click on any photo for an enlarged
version...then the back arrow to return to where you were.)
This view of the Superstition Mountains, from a southwest
vantage point is one of my favorites.
And if you look to the left, way off in the distance you
see Four Peaks which has been featured in a number of
my blogs. I couldn't resist just one more shot...
We parked the car at the proper location and headed out
into the desert for an easy walk...
Your photographer got fixated on the power poles as we
walked along and noticed that the left line of power poles was also
being replaced. Since it was a Holiday, no work crews
to worry about, so I took the opportunity to take a
picture of the lines created by the new poles on the ground,
and the standing old poles as they framed up the power
poles off in the distance.
They would look like this when the job was finished...
and check out the color of that BLUE sky.
Well as you might imagine, we did not go out there to
photograph power poles & mountains, Don was on a mission.
A couple of years ago he placed a geocache in
a tree out in the desert near the power line. Yesterday someone
notified him on Geocaching.com, that they tried to find the "cache" but
it was missing. (Not, because even I, the non geocacher,
found it.) Don verified that the coordinates were accurate and
that the cache was still there. The next great idea...
Ice Cream. Happy New Years Day.
