Phoenix is the 5th largest city in the US
but we in the greater Phoenix area have to also
adjust to our new way of life, even though we are 45
miles away from the city. And yes, we partake in
social distancing, face masks, gloves and and a few
rural outdoor activities!!!

Morning walks start early as you can see by this 5 day forecast.
Today I chased the shade wherever possible,
and discovered something new. I believe it is
a Windmill Palm whose seed pods were
about 14-16 inches long.
By 8:30 it was time to head to Costco for Senior Shopping Hour
from 9-10. The parking lot was very empty by comparison
to normal shopping days. Masked and gloved we had to
get our sanitized cart and walk 6 feet apart
thru the zig zag maze line which seemed to move
very slowly. However, once you were in the store, due to its
enormous size, we wondered where all those masked Seniors went.
As we drove thru our community to pick up
our mail on the way home, I had to get out and take a picture
of one of my favorite birds. This majestic wooden pelican
is about 3' tall and, as you can see that it too follows the current
guidelines of social distancing and wearing a mask!!!
I was just about to post this short blog when we heard a
lot of strange, very loud noise outside and went out to investigate.
This is what we saw taking up the whole street right
in front of our house.
Loved the name of the crane company!!!
The neighbor across the street in the green house,
on the left, needed a new air conditioner installed.
All for stabilizers were put into place
and this huge crane swung into action.
The cables were attached to the new air conditioner
and the crane operator made the job look easy,
and along with a little help from his crew it was
nudged into its final resting place.
The crane was then used to pick up the old
air conditioner which was carefully placed in
the trailer to be taken to the air conditioner burial
grounds... or wherever old air conditioners go!!!
