Since all the "grandkids" spent Thanksgiving Day with
the other side of their families, daughter Kristine and
hubby Richard (far right) hosted a fun-filled "day after"
at their home in Folsom CA...
Since most had turkey or ham the day before, grandson-in-law
Wes (center) taught everyone how to make lobster filled
home made pasta raviolis, using their newly acquired pasta maker.
With a magic chef's touch the process began as Wes
built a flour "bowl" to hold the egg mixture...
and I couldn't resist adding this video which shows
the "down & dirty" portion of the process.
Granddaughter Cassie made lots of garlic cheese toast,
while the boys kneaded the dough to perfection
Wes taught Kenny how to run the dough through the
pasta maker many times to obtain the desired "thinness".
The next step involved cutting hundreds of dough
circles using a common glass as the "cutter".
Grandson Everett and lady friend Michelle learned the
finer side of making home made pasta.
Then the fun part, layering
the lobster mixture on top of the dough "rounds"
adding some ricotta cheese and a top layer of dough "rounds"
and pressing the edges tightly together and dropping them
in a pot of boiling water for a few moments,
while the process repeated itself.
In the meantime Richard prepared broiled Brussel Sprouts.
And all 8 of us settled down to a wonderful,
labor intensive gourmet meal,
while Grandpa Don watched over us from a corner table.
