Oh No.... Headed for 99 degrees today.

Unfortunately the task for today was cleaning the house.
At 6:00 a.m. my feet hit the floor and I quickly
got started since it was already 78 degrees... and
headed for 99 before noon.
After 2 hours I went to sit in the shade out back and have
some water which Don and I  usually do after I've played Pickleball
for two  hours!!!  Don was already there waiting for me.
But today he had company.

Introducing "Monk",  my 36 year old stuffed monkey, who
was having a cup of coffee.  Way back in 1985  I had
a bad accident and  the Doc said it was a
compound spiral displaced fracture of both bones in my left
leg.  So Don and daughter Kristine headed for the gift shop
while I was getting attended to in the hospital... and Monk
started his life with us.  I didn't know Don brought Monk to AZ,
but now and then he appears, to cheer me up.

My first outdoor chore today was to provide some nourishment to our
fine feathered friends.  You're right, these two cottontails
don't have feathers, but they live behind that lattice wall
and quickly came out to beat the birds to the bird food.
 Snooze you lose...

Over water & coffee, I told Don I would need to go for a ride in
about 2 hours...after I finished my chores!!!
At the predetermined time, we jumped in the car,
turned up the A/C and headed out to Queen Valley which
was established in 1915!!!
It is only about 35 minutes from our home.

The scenery was nice with lots of beautiful mountains
and the color green... my favorite color!!!

There are lots of interesting and unique homes in this
area, but

the big draw is a stunning golf course.  No one playing today,

but we did see a horse with a face mask on and it's head
under the minimal shade created by this tree.  The mask
kept the flies from his eyes and any type of shade is
welcome when it's 99 degrees!!!

This place is in the middle of nowhere and after we'd been
wandering aimlessly around for an hour or so,  I thought this
sign in someone's yard gave us some idea of which way to head!!!

After a fun and a/c cool  "outing" I was amazed when I saw these huge
power transmission towers amongst the Saguaros.

They went on as far as the eye could see...
carrying power from who knows where to obviously
the city of Phoenix, which is the 5th largest city in the U.S.
