This beautiful plant is called a Red Bird of Paradise.
They love the hot, dry air so they grow great
where we live.
On this stalk you see, from bottom to top,
the "bands" of blossoms. Those nearest the bottom
are on their way out. The next band is in full
bloom and the berries at the top will bloom next.
This close up shows their glorious detail.
They bloom over and over throughout most of the seasons
here in AZ. You can prune & shape them and you'll
probably see one in our yard... in the meantime
let's look for Bunnies. See that cute little
cottontail straddling the shade line!!!
Whew!!! That was a lot of work.
And last but not least, the Boys that I play Pickleball
with most mornings at 7 a.m. to beat the heat.
Wayne in green and Jerry in red. They are both
over 80, but younger than I am, so they let me play too.
Across the net, Big Barry on the left and Pat in red. Pat and
Jerry are retired Marines. Thanks guys for treating
me like a lady. Too bad we don't have any fun...
