Houston MD Anderson

As you know from prior posts we’ve been in Houston TX a lot lately.
Between Nov 6, 2019  and Jan 24 2020 we made 3 trips and spent 45 days in Houston.

It wasn’t all fun and frolic as we were mainly there for Don to get treatment for his
Lung Cancer at MD Anderson, the #1 Cancer treatment Center in the world.

It employee over 20,000 people, including 1600 faculty
and staff working in more than 25 buildings and is part
of the Texas Medical Center which contains 54 medicine-related
institutions with 21 hospitals and 8 speciality institutions, 4 medical
schools, 7 nursing schools, 3 public health organizations, 2
pharmacy schools and a dental school.

It is peaceful & restful inside...

as well as outside!!!

Son Eric came from Hawaii on Jan 14 to help us out.
On Jan 15 Don had the upper right lobe of his lung removed,
while Eric and I provided moral and physical support.

Nine days later we received an excellent report from the Doc - Don’s cancer
had all been successfully
removed and there was no lymph node involvement!!!

No Chemo treatment would be needed either,
and he was cleared to head back to AZ on Jan 24th

Short walks and enjoying a few sunny days

provided increased lung capacity and overall strength
to head back to AZ  where Don continues to recover
at home and enjoys short  walks & visits with his friends.
