50th Anniversary Celebration

Our 50th Wedding Anniversary has been quite a celebration so far...

It all began a few days ahead
of the actual date when good friends
and AZ neighbors Neil & Shirley invited us to
dinner with a few other friends...

at LB Cantina, a great Mexican restaurant in
Florence AZ (about 1/2 hour drive from Gold Canyon).
Pitchers of Margaritas arrived and Neil & Shirley
(front left) proposed a toast.

And if that wasn't enough we all shared
a typical Mexican dessert.

And our waitress was always one step ahead of
us and when I asked her to take a picture of
us, she started with a selfie...

A few days later Marla and Mike (at the head of
the table) invited a group of my creative stained glass
mosaic friends over for a fabulous home cooked meal
and lots of great conversation!!!

Marla mastered the selfie (but hubby Mike leaned back
at just the wrong moment).  Margo & Dennis were seated
next to Don and I was seated next to Ron and Jerrilea.

On the actual day Jan 9th, special friends made
our annual, sometimes semi-annual trip to Carrabba's.
When you walk in the aroma is fabulous... and as
my grandmother use to tell me, "If you use enough
butter and garlic, you can make rotten wood taste good".
This is my favorite restaurant and the "rotten wood"
and everything else on the menu is fabulous!!!

We started the celebration with my new favorite
wine, William Hill chardonnay.  Coleen & Curt have
been AZ friends for about 14 seasons.  Their "real"
home is in South Dakota.  Oh yes, Curt helped
us with the wine while Coleen enjoyed a
prickly pear margarita!!!
With a few days to spare before we headed
to Houston again, I had time to get my loom
partially warped... remember you have to be
warped to weave... getting warped means
putting all those threads on the loom in the
correct order.   That's it for this time!!!

Another Mixed Bag: Ruby + Flowers and other things...

Can you believe this weather for the Sacramento CA area in late JUNE???  Time to head outside. There were interesting vapor trails in a beau...
