Round 2 - Day 1 Flying to Sacramento

Round 2 consists of a flight to Sacramento CA to pick up Nancy's Hyundai Santa Fe
which has been living at our daughters in Folsom CA.  So here we go...

Flying AK Airlines (partner flight on American) so we didn't have
to fly Phoenix to Seattle, back to Sacramento.

Seeing the Phoenix "bowl" was interesting from the air.
Love those little mounds that appear here and there in an otherwise flat landscape

from the air.

Who knows where, but interesting...

The 1st snow capped peak of the southern tip of the Sierra Nevada Mtns
as we head north.

The high Sierra Nevada Mtns, many peaks  over 14,400'.

The area between the mountains in the foreground and
the Sierra's (distant) is where Hwy 395 travels along the
Eastern Sierras.  We'll be driving that route the day after
tomorrow...

Mono Lake CA.  If you're not familiar with it, Google it.
When we return to AZ via 395 we will come off the mountains to the right and
along the far shore line.  Watch for upcoming photos on a future post.

Topaz Lake

Then more beautiful mountains.

Getting cloudy...

OOPS...

Then green...

The North fork of the American River...

Folsom Lake (Kristine's home is about 15 miles away),
and this is one of the favorite boating placed!!!

The Sacramento Airport lies NW of Sacramento...

in an agricultural area

with lots of rice fields (which are intentionally
flooded this time of year).

Descending and enjoying the "patterns".

Touchdown or should I say "touch down"...

Kristine does a "drive by", picks us up and we
head for Folsom thru downtown Sacramento.

Another Mixed Bag: Ruby + Flowers and other things...

Can you believe this weather for the Sacramento CA area in late JUNE???  Time to head outside. There were interesting vapor trails in a beau...
